The Lawrenceville-Duluth Alumni Chapter (LDAC) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, in conjunction with the LDAC Foundation, will award one $1000 scholarship to a student who excelled in their local school JROTC Program and plans to continue with military training beyond high school.

MISSION STATEMENT: Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. continues the tradition of assisting African- American Male students in the area of education and building strong values and leadership in the community. The fraternity will award one, possibly two, Terry L. Dykes ROTC Scholarships to local high school senior(s) in Gwinnett County Public Schools who participated in their JROTC Program and plans to pursue a post-secondary education. .

In order to be eligible for one of the aforementioned scholarships, you must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher, be a member of an underrepresented group in the US military leadership (based on race and gender), submit an application, a copy of the official high school transcript, a letter of recommendation, and a brief essay highlighting how ROTC has had an impact on your leadership development and how you plan to use it in pursuit of your career aspirations. .

Requirements

___Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.

___Must submit a scanned official copy of high school transcript (or copy of your most recent grade report and official transcript must be presented later to receive scholarship funds).

___Must submit one letter of recommendation from the JROTC instructor or teacher.

___Must submit a one-page (2 pages maximum), double-spaced essay that includes the following: how ROTC has had an impact on your leadership development and how you plan to use it in pursuit of your career aspirations.
